Sónia Bernardo was born in London and Fumina Hamasaki in outskirts of Tokyo. They met at Reading University in 2010 and started playing music together. There is a strong influence of jazz and Bossa Nova on Sónia's vocals matched with Fumina's passionate love for Chicago blues.
